Porsolt & Partners Pharmacology is an independent Contract Research Organization. As a niche CRO, we specialize in animal pharmacology, concentrating on our recognized excellence in selected domains of competence. We have been providing tailored and high quality solutions for over twenty years.
Psychopharmacology was a cornerstone of our company at its inception in 1984 (under the name ITEM-LABO). Since then the range of our activities has steadily broadened. We now cover other areas of central nervous system pharmacology, including pain and, since 1997, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastro-intestinal, and renal/urogenital pharmacology. More recent developments have been in the area of metabolism & eating disorders, and we have been extended our capacity for ex vivo and in vitro tests such as cellular electrophysiology, patch-clamp and isolated tissues. We also carry out phenotype characterization of transgenic and mutant mice.
We perform both efficacy and safety studies in these areas and on the basis of the continued improvement in our standards we were awarded a Grade A GLP compliance certificate from the French government.
Our Research facilities in the Mayenne region cover an area of 2 500 m². The construction of a new Research Center of about 6 000 sqm is planned in 2008. We have 250 m² offices near Paris.
We currently work with more than 100 different companies from Europe, North America, Israel, India and Australasia, of which 40 have been repeat clients for more than 3 years (repeat business). Our sponsors are evenly divided evenly between big pharma, small/mid/size pharma and start-up/biotech companies. Our data have been used to advance numerous substances towards clinical development.
