Release issued 3rd March 2000
Cambridge Healthtech Institute (CHI), a premier provider of biotechnical conferences, is pleased to announce their 2nd Annual PROTEIN DISCOVERY TECHNOLOGIES: New Methods and Applications in Therapeutic Development conference. This meeting, formerly titled Phage Display, will take place April 3-4, 2000 at the Hilton Back Bay in Boston, Massachusetts.
CHI expects to attract over 125 world-class researchers from commercial corporations and academic institutions to this meeting. This is a must attend event for anyone interested in learning about a broad range of applications of phage display and other display methods, including ribosome, yeast, and bacterial surface display. These provide a controlled means of production of peptide and protein libraries that can be used to manufacture and refine molecules for therapeutic development. This includes antibodies, for which there is renewed interest due to the success of therapeutic antibodies currently in the clinic. Therapeutic peptides and proteins offer promise due to the availability of improved delivery methods. There is an increased demand in the use of phage display for the discovery and selection of novel antibiotics, identification of plant pathogens, as well as small molecules for drug development. Display techniques are also being employed in genomics as a tool to generate compounds that affect gene regulation and modification.
Press passes are available for journalists wishing to cover this conference.
