HFA MDI Development Projects

CCL's contract R&D Laboratory has recently finished the development of several metered dose respiratory inhalers products (mdis). The projects, which were delivered on time, were for two major European pharmaceutical companies who wanted to transfer their existing respiratory franchise from CFC to HFA technologies.

For one client, CCL carried out a full development program covering formulation, analytical method development, validation, stability batch manufacture and stability testing. For another client, CCL utilised the clients' formulation to carry out all of the remaining development stages. CCL was able to source the correct combination of actuator and valve systems from well-known world-class device suppliers.

Both clients chose CCL because of CCL's independent position as a contract development and manufacturing house, and CCL's ability to manufacture the product for commercial supply in their new facility after regulatory approval had been gained.
