Pharmaceutical Development Services Ltd (PDS), the fast growing pharmaceutical consultancy with offices in the UK and South Carolina, is expanding its team of associates to meet growing demand and to provide the API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) auditing capability demanded by companies keen to maintain their quality credentials with regulatory authorities.

New PDS Associates Paul Butler and Martin Slade have extensive CVs with particular expertise in API auditing in Europe, India and China making them a valuable resource to companies seeking low cost, high quality API suppliers.

PDS Managing Director Michael Gamlen says, "Having Martin and Paul available to add to the PDS body of expertise represents a considerable opportunity and I had no hesitation in bringing them onto the team. We are finding that API is a very hot topic at the moment. Some pharmaceutical sourcing, particularly from Asia, is proving of variable quality, leading to increased regulatory scrutiny. API Supplier Auditing is a key element of the international effort to maintain pharmaceutical supply chain integrity and avoid problems with counterfeit products and adulterated APIs.

Expertise such as that possessed by Paul Butler and Martin Slade is not easy to come by, and having this capability as part of our package of services reassures clients that they will be able to respond to any regulatory challenges to their supply chain strategy. The expansion in the PDS team is not going to halt at this point either with Michael lining up fresh important appointments for the New Year, designed to put PDS in a position of considerable strength in areas of growing importance.
