MONTREAL, Quebec, March 15, 2002 - ConjuChem Inc. (TSE:CJC), developers of the drug-enabling DAC(tm) technology, today announced a sponsored research collaboration agreement with Suntory Pharmaceutical Research Laboratories LLC (SPRL), a drug discovery and development company based in Cambridge MA.
The agreement calls for the application of ConjuChem's in vivo bioconjugation DAC(tm) Technology to create new and longer-acting therapeutic compounds to treat cardiovascular and related diseases.
"This agreement marks our entry into the cardiovascular therapeutic arena," said ConjuChem President and CEO Duffy DuFresne. "The agreement illustrates the scope of potential applications for our DAC(tm) technology and this Company's commitment to pursuing new opportunities to expand our product pipeline."
