Researchers have developed a nucleic acid plasmid construction capable of undergoing transfection into dopaminergic neurons.

Full description

Once the plasmid has been transfected into the dopaminergic neurons, they can be re-implanted back into patients suffering from neurodegenerative disorders.

The plasmid could be a used as a standalone therapy or as an adjuvant in gene therapy.
