In the European Union, under the provisions of EEC Directive 93/42/EC Aloclair gel is considered a Class 1 Medical Device. In the U.S.A., Aloclair gel is registered as a 510(k) OTC medical device.
Aloclair gel is protected by patents granted in the USA (US6828308) and Europe (EP1313489), Chile, China, New Zealand and South Africa.
Patents are pending in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Czech Rep., Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, India, Jordan, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Malaysia, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Thailand, Taiwan, Ukranian Rep, Venezuela and South Africa.
