Labtec has developed a revolutionary novel approach to treatment of Herpes labialis. LabiPatch® is specifically developed to adhere to the semi-moist environment of the lip and its surrounding skin. The patch is ultrathin and flexible. It contains two herbal ingredients with proven antiviral activity.

The patch is placed directly on the herpes outbreak. The moisture-sensitive polymer composition of the matrix allows easy application and gentle removal. Penetration pressure of the phytodrugs into the labial skin is high. Additionally the patch functions like an occlusive dressing, creating a moist environment which prevents crusting of the lesion and expedites wound healing significantly.

The product is a medical device type IIa. Marketing could start as early as Q2 2010
