Lansoprazole is a specific inhibitor of the gastric acid secretion. It is indicated in the short and long-term treatment of processes requiring a sustained acid inhibition such as duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer and reflux esophagitis. Lansoprazole has proven advantages over agents such as omeprazole, at the level of efficacy and symptoms relief, along with an excellent tolerance and an improved effect on the removal of Helicobacter Pylorii. Product available as generic only, upon patent expiry in the territory of interest or for territories where no valid patent protection exists.
