Constructing Gene and Tissue Specific Markers for Sequenced Organisms

Constructing Gene and Tissue Specific Markers for Sequenced Organisms

Full description

The first database is constructed by employing bioinformatic algorithms to analyze both human genomic and cDNA sequences for gene specific probes. The database contains over 15,000 named human gene-specific probes for microarray and Q-PCR applications. The second database is constructed by mining the public domain cDNA sequence databases and the database contains tissue specific markers for a total of 133 human tissues. The third database is based on the same tools developed for the first database to contain open reading frames and gene specific probes for the 45 fully sequenced microbes. The probes archived in the above three databases can be synthesized on demand with high-throughput DNA synthesizers.

Conclusion

Methods have been developed for eukaryotic and prokaryotic expression profiling, cancer diagnostics and bacterial diagnostics.
