GP Pharm SA

GP Pharm SA
Pharmaceutical company with high value added products for Urology and Oncology based in propietary Drug Delivery Systems. Contract manufacturing of high potency and cytotoxic injectable forms.

The company in detail

Profile

GP Pharm, the pharmaceutical division of the Lipotec Group, is located in Barcelona (Spain). Our activities are focused on research, development, production and marketing of injectable products within Urology and Oncology fields, some of them based in propietary Drug Delivery Systems.

The company works in the complete development of these drugs, from the preclinical studies until the launch to the market. These specialities will be marketed either under own brands or through licenses. Our main business areas are marketing of own products, licensing in&out and contract manufacturing, although we are open to other business collaborations such as R&D partnering, etc.

GP Pharm has a clear motivation for research and development arising from the will of the people involved in the project. This is a fundamental part of our activity, contributing to the development of our future product portfolio. A clear example of the importance of R&D for us is the development of our propietary technological platforms, next generations of microspheres and liposomes that improve existing products on the market. GP Pharm is also conducting multinational clinical trials to evaluate some of its products under development, in order to determine how those act and whether are safe and effective.

Located in Sant Quintí de Mediona, near Barcelona, the new production plant of GP Pharm recently achieved EU GMP approval and started manufacturing operations, producing the first batches of own products and also for some contract manufacturing partners. Our facilities are also designed to be FDA GMP approved. In the plant there are three independent manufacturing buildings that welcome contract manufacturing projects on top of the manufacturing of the group's own products:

-Injectable cytotoxics in solution or freeze-dried with one vial filling line.

-Injectable high potency actives, in solution or freeze-dried with three filling lines (vials, ampoules and pre-filled syringes).

-Sterile process encapsulation unit of high potency actives using propietary Drug Delivery Systems.

Partnering strategy/interests

Within the different fields for which GP Pharm has applied it's know-how to, there are a number of possibilities for out licensing of the products that are being developed. Our will is to maximise their commercial value through alliances either with strong local partners or multi-nationals.

GP Pharm offers the possibility to sell future rights of commercialization of its products under development to those companies willing to collaborate in the pharmaceutical and clinical development/registration with us at the actual stage of every project, allowing us to accelerate the development process or to reach major markets in the world.

We are open to explore also the possibilities to set other strategic alliances such as joint ventures for development, licensing and marketing of pharmaceutical products in specific territories.

All these oportunities exist for products and projects of our pipeline and represent a real chance to get involved in quite interesting and innovative projects.
