In 1996 Biolin Medical was founded by Jan Thorell, former Research Manager at Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacia Diagnostics together with the late Carl-Gunnar Olson, former at Nobel Industrier and responsible for the foundation at the present Nobel Biocare. In October 2004, Biolin has reached an agreement for the acquisition of Hansa Medical Research, a research company involved in the field of infectious diseases.
