Mennen Medical was founded in 1963, as an outgrowth of the NASA Space Program. Herb Mennen & Wilson Greatbatch formed the company as Mennen-Greatbatch Electronics. In 1968, a subsidiary in Israel was formed for Advanced Product Development and access to European markets and in 1978 the company name was changed to Mennen Medical. Following several years of senior management changes and corporate restructuring in the early 90's, Mennen was acquired by CLAL Industries in 1993, as its flagship entry into the medical community. Under CLAL, four new Patient Monitoring and Cath Lab products were developed. In 1998, Mennen Medical was acquired by Charterhouse Group International. On June 5th, 2006, Mennen Medical announced the acquisition of MTRE (Medical Thermo-Regulation Expertise) Company.
