SPIMACO (Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries & Medical Appliances Corporation) was established in 1986 with the main objective of setting up an advanced pharmaceutical industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the local production of medicines and medical appliances and to market these products inside the Kingdom and for export. In 2000, Spimaco made a substantial step in its export activities by establishing its own company in Algeria under the name Societe Saoudiene Spimaco - Alger. SPIMACO has developed a strong position in Saudi Arabia for the local production of medicines and medical appliances, and is well positioned to sustain its growth and have a sound platform to serve export markets. An important and distinctive advantage of SPIMACO strategy is its relations with multinational companies. Most of SPIMACO's earlier deals were structured so that SPIMACO manufactures products for multinationals for all market segments. SPIMACO would take the role of sales and marketing (together with the licensors) at the MOH and other government institutions. SPIMACO is actively marketing most of its registered products to the various segments in the market: Ministry of Health (MOH), private, institutions, and export.
