King’s College London has a history of excellence in generating and improving new innovative technologies from research for patient benefit and wealth creation. The disciplines of Medicine, Dentistry, Psychiatry, Biomedical & Health Sciences and Nursing & Midwifery invested a combined £238 million in research in the year 2006-7. Our partner National Health Service Hospital Trusts are Guy’s and St. Thomas’, King’s College Hospital, University Hospital Lewisham and the South London and Maudsley Hospitalwhich serve a patient population in excess of 1 million. King’s also hosts five prestigious Medical Research Council (MRC) Centres, more than any other institution. Combined with this access to the clinical environment, our wealth of multidisciplinary expertise offers partner companies access to a critical mass of integrated research and key opinion leaders in the development and clinical application of new technologies.
