BioVex : Developing a new class of vaccines to treat and prevent cancer - OncoVEX and ImmunoVEX, and a functional genomics platform for gene determination in the nervous system - NeuroVEX
Biovex was founded in February 1999 by Dr Robert Coffin (CSO) and Professor David Latchman (Dean of the Institute of Child Heath, UK) a CEO was appointed in the same year and in mid-2000 the board was expanded with the addition of two more directors. The company was granted a core patent by the US patent office, entered the first of several collaborations and also raised £10 million in a second round financing in 2001. In June 2005 relocated its headquarters from the UK to Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.
