Biosense Laboratories aims to detect contaminants at a very early stage in compliance with the "precautionary principle" by analysing molecular, cellular, and physiological responses in organisms exposed to pollutants, so-called biomarkers. Biotechnology offers the solution to this challenge as biotechnology-based diagnostics can monitor and detect all environmental contaminants and toxins. The detection methods are based on simple principles of molecular recognition and biological effect, and this is the platform from which Biosense products are being developed.
