NSGene has a biodelivery program aimed at developing implantable therapeutic products for neurological diseases and a Factor program aimed at the discovery of novel genes with therapeutic potential.
NsGene was spun-off from NeuroSearch in December 1999. NsGene was established to bridge the successful academic transplantation programme for Parkinson Disease with focused industrial product development. Growing knowledge of the diseases in the nervous system, combined with new gains in gene technology make the timing right for a dedicated effort to develop new cell and gene based products for the treatment of neurological diseases. In order to be competitive in this market segment, the Company has built a strong academic and corporate network and assembled a comprehensive body of knowledge and intellectual property rights that allow for rapid clinical development and commercialisation of novel cell and gene based products. NsGene's business strategy is to exploit its current proprietary rights, to add new IPR, and make the necessary partnerships to develop its products. NsGene is creating value by generating IPR and moving selected products into the clinic through own efforts while developing additional products in partnerships or through outlicensing
efforts.
