The origins of Abiogen Pharma date back to the beginning of the last century, in Pisa, when Commander Alfredo Gentili founded the Galenic Institute, later renamed Istituto Gentili. Its subsequent acquisition by the American multi-national company Merck Sharp & Dhome in 1997 made the establishment of Abiogen Pharma possible. Abiogen Pharma wishes to embody the dreams, projects and scopes which had inspired Alfredo Gentili since 1917: to be an industrial reality, within the national pharmaceutical scene, where scientific culture, research experience and know-how are the starting point for a company with the ambition to join innovative creativity of research with important business objectives. Abiogen Pharma intends to continue adapting the concept of innovation to all the sectors of the pharmaceutical industry. Innovation in research means a pipeline orientated at the development of new therapeutic regimes with the expertise of Abiogen Pharma's strong group of researchers who also have the capacity to go beyond the new biotechnological frontiers.
