Research activity is the central heart, where all company
activities develop. Traditional studies on the osteo-articular
metabolism led to the marketing of four bisphosphonates and
established Abiogen Pharma as a unique world-wide
company.
Abiogen has recently developed studies in several other
fields, with particular interest in the central nervous
system and tumours.
In the field of anti-tumor agents, Abiogen is developing
new substances, using biotechnology and in cooperation
with international partners and American University
Research Centres.
In order to ensure international manufacturing standards,
Abiogen has designed and built a new production plant
which has been in operation since September 2001. The
new plant occupies a surface of about 100,000 square
metres, and is considered one of the most advanced in its
sector.
