Mundipharma International

Mundipharma International
Mundipharma International seeks products in analgesia, anesthesia and oncology to market through a pan-European sales force.

The company in detail

Profile

Mundipharma International Limited undertakes licensing and business development activities in support of the Purdue/Mundipharma/Napp independent associated companies, which offer pan-European sales and marketing capabilities. The companies have grown remarkably in recent years as they respond successfully to the rapidly evolving healthcare market by virtue of an entrepreneurial outlook and differentiated products. Sales and Marketing Overview The Purdue/Mundipharma/Napp independent associated companies are world leaders in the development of strong analgesics for the treatment of severe pain. They are worldwide leaders in the opioid analgesic market, with products such as OxyContin (oxycodone), MST Continus (morphine), Palladone (hydromorphone), Sevredol (morphine), and Tramadol. Many of these products are delivered through patented, controlled release technologies developed in-house. The companies' products are primarily branded ethical medicines. Product sales are made in 113 countries around the world and are supported by a strong, worldwide sales and marketing operation that comprises over 1000 field sales representatives in Europe. The companies are committed to extending their presence in the areas of analgesia, anaesthesia and oncology, based on considerable expertise in treating patients with pain and cancer. Research & Development Overview Staff are employed across R&D establishments in five countries (US, UK, Germany, Canada and Switzerland), providing a full spectrum of R&D activities from preclinical research to clinical development and registration. A substantial medical research and regulatory affairs function is located in Cambridge, UK, with expertise in handling European clinical research and worldwide product registrations. Since 1990, around 590 product registrations have been achieved in 102 territories, including a significant number of registrations under the Mutual Recognition Procedure. These services can be made available to partners in order to expedite rapid and effective progress of drugs in clinical stage development.

Partnering strategy/interests

Business Development Overview Mundipharma International Limited is actively seeking products and commercial partnerships to complement our product portfolio and sales and marketing expertise in the areas of pain, oncology and supportive care as outlined in the "Partnering Strategy" profiles below. Within Europe, products are marketed throughout the European Economic area via a network of companies including Napp Pharmaceuticals, Mundipharma and Norpharma. Extension of the sales and marketing coverage into Eastern Europe beyond the enlarged EU is a current priority. A successful record in the marketing of ethical pharmaceuticals, both in-licensed and in-house, underlies the companies' capabilities in successful commercialisation of products falling both within and outside these specified therapeutic areas.
