Grupo Uriach was originally founded in 1838. In 1960 the Uriach Research Center was created. In 1981 Grupo Uriach began the marketing of Disgren (triflusal), a novel molecule from the company's own research. By 1990, the company had expanded to cover five continents. Pharmagenus, the company's generic products subsidiary, was founded in 1997. In January 2002, Uriach OTC became a separate company within the Group. In July 2005, the Grupo Uriach through its subsidiary, Uriach OTC has bought Laboratorios Diviser-Aquilea known in the market under the Aquilea brand. In July 2005, The Gruppo Uriach has bought the Divister-Auilea through its subsidiary Uriah OTC.
