The discovery organization at Melacure has built a an effort to discover novel, patentable drugs targeting melanocortin receptors. A major achievement to date is that the company has managed to discover and characterize new compounds with very promising profiles aimed at the MC1, MC3, MC4 and MC5 melanocortin receptors, with opportunities in inflammation, obesity, diabetes and sexual dysfunction.
