Jelfa Pharmaceutical's history dates back to 1945. Soon after the World War II had finished, a group of Polish pioneers, who moved to West Poland, started to operate a small post-German pharmaceutical factory, namely "Labopharma". The first privatisation measures were taken on 2 December 1991 when the firm was transformed into a stock company of the State Treasury; its was also renamed "Polfa" Jelenia Góra. In January of 1994, whilst applying to be listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange the company changed its name to JELFA Pharmaceutical. The company is focused in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals for human and veterinary therapy.
