The company was founded in Milan in 1938. The first molecule developed by its Research Centre was a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, first marketed in 1984. Italfarmaco Group is undergoing an intensive programme of international development through the consolidation and expansion of its presence in Southern Europe. The company intends to focus its attention in broadening the current portfolio of cardiovascular, immuno-oncological, gynaecological and dermatological products. The company has several subsidiaries.
