IOMED was incorporated in Utah in 1974 as Motion Control. In 1987, the company merged with JMW Acquisition, and the name of the merged entity was changed to IOMED. Shares in IOMED have been traded on the AMEX exchange since 1998. IOMED's primary business goal is to establish its proprietary pharmaceutical systems as a preferred, cost effective means of delivering drugs. The company plans to execute its strategy by developing systems for off-patent drugs, increasing market penetration of existing products, broadening its technology platform, controlling and leveraging product manufacturing processes, and entering into collaborative relationships with other companies. IOMED is working to strengthen its distribution network by entering into exclusive agreements with a broader nationwide network of dealers. The company plans to leverage low cost manufacturing to offer distributors competitive pricing and improve its reimbursement profile. In order to enter into new markets, IOMED intends to continue to pursue opportunities that will allow it to expand its product offerings and identify new markets both independently and through collaborative relationships with other companies.
