In 1978 Hikman was established in Amman, Jordan and began manufacturing patented pharmaceutical products under license 1980. In 1991 the company entered the US market with the acquisition of West-ward, headquartered in Eatontown, New Jersey. Hikma's key strategic objectives are to consolidate its strong market positions in the MENA Region by launching new products, expanding our geographic reach and increasing market share, grow its Injectable Pharmaceutical business by launching new products in the United States, the MENA Region, and Europe and by a strengthening its sales and marketing network and continue to grow profitably in the United States by focusing on high margin, niche product opportunities
