Profile

Sciele Pharma is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on sales, marketing and development of branded prescription products in the United States and outside US countries. We focus on the treatment of cardiovascular, paediatric and women's health conditions and disorders.

Our strategy is to acquire or license pharmaceutical products that other companies do not actively market and that we believe to have high sales growth potential. In addition, we intend to develop new patentable formulations, use new delivery methods, and seek regulatory approval for new indications of existing drugs in furtherance of our life cycle strategies.

We promote our products in the US through our nationwide sales and marketing force of approximately 800 professionals, targeting high prescribing primary care Physicians, Cardiologists, Paediatricians and Obstetrician/Gynaecologists. Promotion of products outside the United States is through local distributors or agents.

In-Licensing / Acquisitions

Our foremost interest is in: Women's health, cardiology, paediatrics and selected other therapeutic areas.

Our strategy is to acquire or in-license prescription pharmaceutical products for sale in the United States and/or outside of the United States which are promotion-sensitive, compliment our existing products, and which are:

1. successful (or becoming successful) outside of the United States but which are not yet available in the United States; and

2. in Phase III of development.

Out-Licensing

Opportunities exist for Sciele Pharma to out-license for ex-U.S. sales the following products:

1. Sular (extended release Nisoldipine): a patented calcium channel blocker for hypertension

2. Altoprev (extended release lovastatin): a patented once-a-day treatment for high cholesterol

3. Specialty Dietary Food Supplements for Woman’s, Men’s and Children’s Health
