BPL is one of the leading suppliers of plasma derived products in the global fractionation industry. BPL is a not-for-profit organization wholly owned by the UK government, through the Department of Health.

BPL is based at a single site located in the outskirts of North London, in the United Kingdom. BPL has developed a modern self-contained site, including specifically designed Manufacturing, Quality Control and Research and Development facilities. BPL also has comprehensive Regulatory, Medical and Marketing support on site.

BPL's manufacturing facility is among the newest and most modern in the plasma fractionation industry. The facility has stringent control procedures covering every aspect of production, and a separate Viral Secure Area to ensure the safety of all products. Supplies of frozen plasma from US FDA-licensed and PPTA-approved plasma collection centres are delivered to BPL for the processing and manufacturing of BPL products.

BPL currently manufactures fifteen products, including Coagulation factors, IgG's and Albumin, which are distributed within the UK and exported to over 40 countries worldwide. Within the UK BPL has a specialised UK based Hospital sales team.

Our specialist departments, including Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical and Marketing, are all dedicated to the development and enhancement of BPL products. Currently, our research team is working on projects covering a number of areas of interest and BPL has an excellent track record of turning fundamental science into products, with several of our inventions currently being marketed in England and our export territories.
