Labtec has developed a transdermal sufentanil patch for the treatment of moderate to severe chronic pain. Sufentanil TDS is a matrix-type transdermal patch with the active ingridient sufentanil, a well-known opioid analgesic that is used as as injection or infusion for anesthesia since decades. Sufentanil is not only the most potent substance in its class (about seven times more potent than fentanyl) but has a superior pharmcokinetic profile. Safety and potency of the product are far better compared to fentanyl patches. Due to its very small size and its textile backing this next generation product offers the highest possible wearing comfort for the patient.
Status: End of Phase I. Formulation is finished. Two Phase I clinical trial (single and multiple dosing) have been performed showing a superior pharmacokinetic profile of the product. European regulatory advice meeting was successfully held and a FDA IND meeting is in preparation.
Labtec is looking for a partner to execute the phase II and III clinical program.
